It’s a beautiful day in the Bronx as a huge crowd takes in the June 30- 1960 matinee- between the Bronx Bombers and the Kansas City A's. The Bombers would live up their name this day as they would belt five round trippers while cruising to a 10-3 victory. Watching the action intently from the on-deck circle- in his first season in New York is Roger Maris. One inning earlier- he belted his 25th dinger of the season. Now it was the Mick’s turn to go deep- as he rockets this pitch from Bob Trowbridge into the right field seats. It was the Commerce Comet's 18th round tripper.
